The Karnataka High Court on Friday stayed further proceedings, based on the public notice issued by three public sector oil companies in August 2017, inviting applications for appointment of LPG distributors in 238 locations in the State.
A Division Bench comprising acting Chief Justice H.G. Ramesh and Justice P.S. Dinesh
Kumar passed the interim order on a PIL petition, filed by Karnataka Rajya Vikalachetanara Rakshana Samiti. The petitioner-samiti had complained that Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Ltd., and Hindustan Petroleum Ltd. have failed to reserve 5% of distributorship to physically challenged as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
