Karnataka records 72.67% voter turnout in Assembly elections

Karnataka Assembly Elections recorded a voter turnout of 72.67 percent, excluding postal ballot and home voting. In the 2013 Assembly elections, the turnout was 71.88 percent and in 2018 it was 72.44 percent.

Chikkaballapur district recorded an 85.83 percent voter turnout, Mandya and Ramanagara districts recorded over 84 percent turnout and average in 28 constituencies of Bengaluru was 54.53 percent and Bangalore Urban district alone recorded the turnover of 56.82 percent.

Bangalore rural district recorded 83.76 percent. In terms of Constituencies, Hoskote and Melukote recorded over 90 percent polling and Bengaluru South recorded the least at 46.86 percent



polling.

Many exit polls have shown that Congress may form the Government or emerge as the single largest party.

Reacting to this, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that exit poll results are not cent percent perfect and there will be a five to ten percent difference. He emphasised that the ground report says that BJP will get an absolute majority. He asked everyone to wait for the results on May 13th.

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala has tweeted that the turnout is particularly high in rural areas indicating that the BJP is headed for a disastrous performance. He has said in his tweet that Congress is going to win and win big.
