A Delhi court has sent Karti Chidambaram, son of Congress leader P Chidambaram, to judicial custody till the 24th of this month in the INX Media corruption case.
Special judge Sunil Rana pronounced the order after the CBI said Karti was not required for custodial interrogation.The court also dismissed Karti's plea for early hearing of his bail application, saying that the matter will be heard on Thursday as
scheduled.
Karti was produced before the special judge on expiry of his three-day police custody. He has already spent 12 days in police custody since his arrest on the 28th of last month from Chennai airport.
Meanwhile, hours after the court sent him to judicial custody, Karti moved the Delhi High Court seeking bail. The matter would be heard on Tuesday.
