In Jammu and Kashmir, the Valley business and travel trade bodies have announced a Kashmir Bandh today in protest against the killing of Tourists in Pahalgam.

The joint statement issued by the Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Hoteliers Club, All Travel Associations, transporters, restaurant owners, and civil society groups informed about the Bandh. Our correspondent reports, several religious amalgamations have supported the bandh



call.

In the Jammu region also, bandh has been called by business bodies and cross cross-section of the society.

People from multiple areas across Jammu and Kashmir organised candlelight protests.

Reports said Northern Army Commander Lt Gen MV Suchendra Kumar is arriving in Srinagar today. He will be briefed by local formation commanders on the present security situation in Kashmir Valley.
