Tiruvananthapuram: Kerala Finance Minister KN Balagopal will present the State budget for fiscal 2022-23 in the Assembly today. This is the second budget of the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front Government in its second consecutive term, presented against the backdrop of Covid-induced economic crisis, fall in tax revenue and mounting administrative
expenditure.
However, the Finance Minister has made it clear that his approach will be to make the economy lively through various measures including creation of more job opportunities.
The budget session of the State Assembly will conclude on the 18th of this month.
