The Kerala government has ordered the setting up of a high-level inquiry team to investigate allegations against the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Law and Order, M R Ajith Kumar.

The probe will be headed by the Director General of Police Shaik Darvesh Saheb. Nilambur MLA P V Anvar has accused the ADGP of being involved in illegal activities such as phone tapping,



connections to gold smuggling rackets, and other criminal misconduct.

The five-member inquiry team, comprising an IG Police, a DIG, and two SPs has been asked to submit its findings within a month.

In a related development, the state government has transferred the Pathanamthitta Superintendent of Police, S Sujith Das.
