The Kerala government on Friday announced that it will issue Covid-19 vaccination certificates with passport numbers to those who require it in order to travel abroad. The district medical officers have been authorised as the competent authority to issue these certificates.

To travel to several countries, a valid Covid vaccination certificate with passport number mentioned is required in order to obtain a travel clearance.

Most people in India have registered for the vaccination with their Aadhar card or some other identity proof.

Thus, many people who need to go abroad are not able to get the required travel clearance because their passport number is not mentioned on the vaccination certificate, the Kerala government stated.

The government’s new initiative will help them by including the passport number on the certificate.
