Kerala govt to provide pension to former circus artistes

The Kerala Government has decided to provide pension to former circus artistes in the state and allocated 1.13 crore rupees for the same.

The decision was taken after a group of circus

artistes met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan during his recent visit to Kannur district and appraised him of their plight.Thalassery in Kannur district is considered to be the cradle of Indian circus.
