Kerala is witnessing a steep rise in dengue cases with 1,075 infections reported across the state in the last 10 days amid heavy rainfall.

The data released by the Directorate of Health Services shows that around 11,500 people sought treatment for fever, while 109 dengue cases were reported in the state on July 5



alone.

Notably, most of these cases have come from Malappuram district, which has reported 2,159 fever cases.

More than 50,000 patients have sought treatment for fever so far in just the five days of the month of July itself. According to the data of the Kerala health department, two deaths were reported due to Lepto fever.
