Khammam has attained a pink hue with the TRS party banners, cut outs and festoons’ occupying every nook and corner on the eve of the party’s plenary to be held here on Wednesday.
The plenary will adopt as many as 15 resolutions mostly on the welfare and development initiatives with a focus on accomplishing the mission of “Bangaru Telangana,” TRS sources said. The town got a refurbished look with the roads being re-carpeted, dividers repainted and medians beautified with ornamental plants and giant pink balloons dotting the skyline to welcome the delegates to the plenary and public meeting slated for Wednesday.
The TRS is organising its plenary for the first time in Khammam to mark the 15th anniversary of the founding of the party.
The ruling party has chosen Khammam as the venue for the mega event to further expand its organisational base and emerge as a formidable force in the district, considered a
traditional Left bastion.
Huge cut outs of Chief Minister and the TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao have been erected at all main junctions. Several signboards and banners containing pictures of Mr Rao with catchy titles - Kaarana Janmudu, Pedala Pennidhi, Telugu Jaathi Pitha and Apara Bhageerathudu have come up at various traffic intersections on the main thoroughfares in the town.
The sprawling Cherukuri Gardens, the venue of the plenary session, has been decked up colourfully with the party banners and cut outs. Mr Chandrasekhar Rao will address the delegates in the presence of the Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other elected representatives besides the senior leaders of the party on Wednesday afternoon. According to the party sources, the plenary is expected to deliberate on wide range of subjects including Mission Bhageeratha, Mission Kakatiya, two-bed room housing scheme, irrigation projects, etc.
