Khorasan Group of ISIS attempted suicide attack in India last year but failed: US Official

Director of the National Counter terrorism Center of the US, Russel Travers has said that the Khorasan group of the ISIS or the ISIS-K attempted a suicide attack in India last year but failed.

Replying to a question from Indian-origin Senator Maggie Hassan,  Travers said, the



outfit has attempted to inspire attacks outside of Afghanistan.

Travers also said that al-Qaeda retains its long-standing ties to the Haqqani Network and other militant networks active in Afghanistan and Pakistan that frequently target US personnel.
