Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and BJP leader Kiran Bedi’s husband Brij Bedi died at a hospital in Gurgaon on Sunday morning after brief illness.
Brij was a renowned photographer and social activist. He stayed in Amritsar in Punjab. Kiran Bedi was present at the hospital at the time of his death.
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has deeply mourned the death of Brij Bedi. He said Brij Bedi would be ever remembered by the people for his
philanthropic deeds and commitment for the service of mankind. Brij has also been a university-level tennis player in his younger days.
Kiran tweeted, “Amritsar has lost a man who loved his city the most. He was someone who spent his life addressing the cause of the needy. We will carry forward his service.”
The couple got married in 1972 and have a daughter, Saina. Brij spent most of life in holy city Amritsar. He will be cremated in the city on Monday.
