India has signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia for Hajj 2025, finalising a quota of 1,75,025 pilgrims. Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju signed the deal in Jeddah with Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al Rabiah.

“Hajj Agreement 2025 signed with Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister for Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Finalised a quota of 1,75,025 pilgrims from India for Hajj 2025. We are committed to providing the best possible services to all our Hajj Pilgrims,” Rijiju posted on X.

The meeting also explored ways to enhance the pilgrimage experience for Indian devotees and further strengthen bilateral

ties.

Reacting to the development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called it "wonderful news" and reiterated his government's commitment to improving pilgrimage experiences.

"Our government is committed to ensuring improved pilgrimage experiences for devotees," PM Modi said in an X post.

Under the agreement, the 2025 quota will be split between the Hajj Committee of India (HCoI) and private Hajj Group Organisers (HGOs) at a 70:30 ratio. Of the total, HGOs will be allocated 52,507 spots. Rijiju noted that this ratio has been maintained in recent years to ensure smooth operations.

The agreement reflects continued efforts to improve logistics and services for Indian pilgrims.
