Ladakh celebrates its first Independence day as a Union Territory

Ladakh is celebrating its first Independence Day as a Union Territory. At the historic Polo ground,

Ladakh Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur will unfurl the tricolor at 10 this morning.

In the new status, the youngest UT Ladakh is celebrating Independence Day today. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic in the region the celebrations are scàled down to hoisting the national flag addressed



by the LG RK Mathur and concluding with the national anthem. However, the arrangements of a couple of cultural Audio Visual shows representing Leh and Kàrgil will be screened at the venue.

Similarly, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh and Kargil CECs Gyal P Wangyal and Feroz Ahmed Khan will also unfurl the tricolour at different functions.
