Lakhpati Didis’ felicitated as strength of country’s economy

The Rural Development Ministry on Saturday felicitated Lakhpati Didis on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day at the Sashakt Samudaya, Sashakt Lakhpati Didi program in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Rural Development Dr Chandra Shekhar Pemmasani highlighted that more than 10 crore women are associated with self-help groups and the participation of women has



increased rapidly in the last 10 years. He also hailed the Lakhpati Didis as the strength of the country’s economy. 

 

Further, Dr Pemmasani called the village economy the strength of the country. He said that the progression of a village happens when women earn, leading to the progression of the entire country.
