Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav is set to field two of his seven daughters in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Misa Bharati might get an RJD ticket to contest Patliputra and Rohini Acharya from Saran Lok Sabha constituencies, according to sources.
Interestingly, strongman-turned-politician Ritlal Yadav was among the top contenders for an RJD ticket from Patliputra parliamentary constituency.
He was seen frequenting former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi’s official residence at 10, Circular Road in the state capital over the last couple of days.
As the media confronted Ritlal Yadav with regard to the mystery that shrouds his candidature from RJD for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections from Patliputra constituency, he apparently conceded and said:
“Bhai-bahan ke lad-pyaar mein Patliputra constituency fans gaya hai. Bhai chaeta hai ki bahan faisla le. Bahan chahti hai ki bhai faisla le. Adhikar badi bahan ka hai. Unka decision mera decision hai. (Patliputra constituency is hanging in balance. Such is the love among siblings which is creating uncertainty over the Patliputra seat. I personally believe that the elder sister must take the call. I will accept her decision as my own)”.
Responding to a question pertaining to his personal aspirations of becoming a Member of Parliament from Patliputra, Ritlal asserted that it does not matter who wins, saying “Bhai bane ya bahan, kya dark padta hai.”
Apparently refraining from zeroing in on a name as to whom he actually wanted to defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, Ritlal said he would defeat the one who holds Patliputra presently.
