The security forces have arrested four terrorists linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said on Wednesday.
According to the Baramulla Police, initially, two terrorists, identified as Gh Hassan and Mukhtar Ahmad Khan, were arrested by the police with the help of teams of the Indian Army and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on October 30.
During the investigation, two more persons, identified as Altaf Ahmad Rather and Farooq Ahmad Naqeeb, were also detained for questioning.
The police also recovered one Chinese pistol, one pistol magazine, 12
live rounds and two hand grenades from their possession. A case was also registered against them under the relevant sections of the IPC and the Unlawful Prevention of Activities Act (UAPA).
As per police, during questioning, both Rather and Naqeeb confessed that they possessed arms and ammunition. The police also recovered two hand grenades from a place of their identification.
All four accused were linked with Let/ TRF, and were working for another terrorist named Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh, who is currently under arrest under the Public Safety Act (PSA), police added.
Further investigation is going on.
