Law against Benami Property to be operationalised soon: Modi

In his monthly Mann Ki Baat programme on All India Radio, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the government will soon operationalise a strong law to effectively deal with benami properties. 

Mr. Modi said, the law, which was kept on back burner since 1988, will be implemented stringently in the coming days. The Prime Minister said, the revived law will give more teeth to the Benami Property legislation to



deal with this menace. 

Mr. Modi vowed to carry forward the war against corruption and black money after the demonetisation and said this is just a beginning.The Prime Minister sought cooperation from public to make the war against corruption a success. He said, the wrongdoings of some are being caught only with support of common people who are coming forward with concrete information about hoarders.
