Leaders of top opposition parties will meet in New Delhi tomorrow in a bid to reach a consensus on a joint candidate for the upcoming presidential election.
Sources said the 10-member group set up by the opposition will meet for the first time after its constitution. The opposition move on tomorrow's meeting came soon after BJP president Amit Shah announced that a panel of three senior ministers would talk to allies
and other parties on presidential candidates.
Several rounds of talks have already been held among senior opposition leaders on the issue.The opposition is waiting for the ruling dispensation to come up with its candidate and will discuss if the name proposed by the NDA is acceptable to them.The poll to elect the next president will be held on July 17 and counting will take place on July 20.
