Legendary tabla maestro Zakir Hussain turned 70 today.  Hailed as one of the  most famous percussion artists, Ustad Zakir  Hussain has also composed music for films and  acted occasionally. He was awarded Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan apart from other prestigious



recognitions in the country and the world.

Son of another legend Ustad Allah Rakhha Khan, Zakir Hussain started  playing  the tabla at a very young age. We leave you with a clip of one of his performances.
