Rains in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai took a halt since yesterday evening after wreaking havoc for four consecutive days. Life has started returning to normalcy with water on railway tracks receding and suburban trains service resuming movement.
Since yesterday evening, thousands of people were stranded at various stations across the metropolis as train
services were hampered. As a result, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation converted various corporation schools near the stations into temporary shelters and provided food and water to them.
Meanwhile, the weather department has issued a red with heavy to very heavy rainfall for today.
