In Karnataka, prominent Lingayat leader from Hubballi-Dharwad region Jagadish Shetter quit Congress today and rejoined BJP in the presence of senior leader and former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and state party President B Y Vijayendra. The former Chief Minister and six-time MLA Jagadish Shetter quit BJP last year when the party denied him a ticket to contest for the seventh



time from the Hubballi-Dharwad Central assembly constituency.  

After joining the BJP, Mr. Shetter said that the BJP with which he had a long relationship wanted him to come back and added that his decision to rejoin the BJP is because he wants Narendra Modi to become Prime Minister again.
