New Delhi : The Lok Sabha today passed the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy Bill.
The Bill formally establishes the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy at Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
During discussion, participating members pointed out that challenges in the field of energy should be explored, alongside reviewing research and education in this area. It was suggested that programs related to biogas and biofuel must be focussed
upon.
Lok Sabha adjourned for the day shortly after the passage of the Bill.
In Rajya Sabha private member business was undertaken.
Five more days of the Monsoon Session remain as it is scheduled to end on August 11, 2017. Lok Sabha, as of yesterday has seen productivity of 73 percent, while in Rajya Sabha productivity has been 76 percent. Question hour has functioned for 65 percent of its scheduled time in Lok Sabha, and 51 percent of its scheduled time in Rajya Sabha.
