A court in Ludhiana has issued fresh summons to Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in an income tax case. Chief Judicial Magistrate ordered issuing of fresh summons in a criminal complaint of 2016 that the I-T department had filed against Mr Singh.
The court was told that summons earlier sent to the chief minister
could not be served after which fresh summons were issued, and the next hearing in the case was posted for 18th of September. Mr Singh is facing accusations of making false statements, and wilful omission in providing required information to the I-T department and obstructing its officials from performing their duties.
