The ultra-luxury Deccan Odyssey train is back on track in Maharashtra after a COVID-19-induced break of more than three years. The train, called Deccan Odyssey 2.0 has been refurbished to offer more comfort and a royal travel experience to its passengers.
The 21-coach train will have forty deluxe and two presidential suites apart from a conference hall. Services like dining, entertainment, accommodation, lounge facilities, and guided sightseeing tours, health spa, gymnasium, library, etc will also be available for travellers. The train, in its new avatar, will have bio-toilets. Gas cylinders in the pantry have been replaced with induction while fire safety norms have also been updated.
The train will offer passengers a choice to
pick from various trip options like the Maharashtra Splendour wherein they will be taken to famous tourist spots across the State. The Maharashtra Wild Trail will take passengers to various wildlife sanctuaries along with nearby tourist attractions.
The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation has planned the first commercial trip of Deccan Odyssey 2.0 from 23rd September. The seven-night and eight-day ‘Indian Sojourn’ trip from Mumbai to Delhi will include a visit to Ajanta Ellora Caves in Aurangabad.
Talking about the resumption of Deccan Odyssey services, Maharashtra’s Tourism Minister Girish Mahajan today said that it will lead to increased tourist footfall.
