A 16-year-old was allegedly gang-raped by policemen of the dial 100 team in Gwalior on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday but even after the complaint was lodged, no arrests have been made as yet.
A police officer posted with the Behat police station in Gwalior told India today that the matter has been referred to the Mahila police station where preliminary investigation is underway.
The incident occurred on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday when the victim had gone to meet an acquaintance Raghvendra. He works with the dial 100 team of the district police and had expressed his desire to meet over the phone. On the pretext of greeting Holi, Raghvendra dragged her into the police vehicle where she was raped by him and two of his associates.
The victim's father, on

finding his daughter missing, raised an alarm and alerted the villagers and also informed the police but there was no response. Villagers found the girl in an unconscious state outside the village in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
On regaining consciousness she narrated her ordeal after which her family once again approached the cops.
"Instead of registering an FIR, the police tried to cover up the crime and it was only after our persistence that a complaint was registered," the victim's father alleged.
SP Gwalior rural Rajesh Tripathi confirmed that the victim's father had named some people and that the matter had been referred to the Mahila police station where a case had been registered.
The Gwalior district police, however, has no answer as to why the accused have still not been arrested
