Bhopal: An officer of Madhya Pradesh Seeds and Farm Development Corporation (MPSFDC) was terminated from service for allegedly seeking sexual favours from some girl applicants for a post in the state-owned body to qualify them in the interview, officials said on Tuesday.

The corporation issued an order late on Monday evening dismissing him from service after a case was registered against him in a local police station in Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh in connection with the incident.

A case was registered against the accused Sanjeev Kumar Tantuvay, who was serving as production officer in the corporation, under section 354-A (demands for sexual favours) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) in a local police station in Gwalior following a probe by police into the charges levelled against him, police said.

The corporation chairman Munnalal Goyal said that the accused was issued a notice following the complaint against him and later terminated from service after a case was registered against him.

According to the police, the accused was a member of the panel selected to interview the applicants for a post in the corporation. The accused had allegedly texted WhatsApp messages to some girl applicants asking them to make ‘love for a night only’ to get qualified in the interview, police said. An alleged victim lodged a complaint with the police by producing the screenshot of the offensive message, police said. “We are probing if the accused had given such sex for job offer to any other girl candidates”, a senior Gwalior district police officer said.
