In Madhya Pradesh, women will now get 35 percent reservation instead of 33 percent in all government jobs in the state. This proposal has been given the green signal in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav.

The increased reservation for women in Madhya Pradesh will apply to all categories including SC, ST and OBC. As per the notification, 35 percent of the reserved posts for each category will

be given to women candidates of the same category.

Actually, the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had announced to increase the reservation for women to 35 percent just before the assembly elections last year, but due to the assembly elections, it could not get the approval of the cabinet. A gazette notification has also been published in this regard.
