Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde directed that the black spots declared due to frequent accidents on the roads in Maharashtra should be removed immediately.
While addressing a meeting yesterday at the Sahyadri guest house in Mumbai regarding road safety measures and revised policy, he also directed the Collectors and District Superintendents of Police to maintain coordination to eliminate black spots in their limits and observe Road Safety Week at least thrice a year.
Chief Minister also said that modern vehicle testing centers will be
established at 23 places in the state and automatic vehicle testing tracks will be established for vehicle licenses.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed to take action to suspend the driving license of drivers for a few days or months, who have been fined five to six times for violating traffic rules. He also said that the smart systems which are on the roads all over the world to prevent accidents should be installed on the Mumbai-Nagpur Samriddhi Highway so that the Samriddhi Highway can become the smartest highway in the world.
