The Enforcement Directorate on Friday raided a Bollywood production house in connection with an online betting case.
According to ED sources, Qureshi Productions received finance from Mahadev app promoters, Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, for making films.
Notably, Qureshi Productions, run by Vaseem and Tabassum Qureshi, has been involved in the making of a big-budget historical movie with a top Bollywood star. The movie is being made in a regional language and is said to be dubbed in various other
languages.
The raids are currently underway in Andheri and a few other locations. Vaseem Qureshi is being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate and his travel details and finances are being verified.
Several top Bollywood celebrities, including actors Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and comedian Kapil Sharma, are under the probe agency's scanner in connection with the ongoing investigation into the online betting case.
Mahadev Book app, an online betting platform, is being probed by the ED and police departments of several states.
