In Maharashtra, the third day of the Winter Session of the Assembly at Nagpur witnessed uproar over the Citizenship Amendment Act.

While the Opposition BJP stressed on the implementation of the Act, the ruling alliance partner Congress took a stand for its non-implementation in the state, terming it as

unconstitutional.

Leader of the Opposition, Devendra Fadnavis said the state has no right to stop the implementation of the Act as it has been passed by the Centre.

Discussion on the Governor’s speech in both Houses of the Legislature is being held yesterday. The Winter Session will be concluded on the 21st of this month.
