Maharashtra CM holds meeting with Covid task force

Mumbai: Amid a sharp rise in Omicron cases in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray held an urgent meeting of members of the state Covid taskforce late last night. Yesterday, 23 new Omicron cases were reported in the state, the highest in a single



day so far, sounding an alarm bell among health authorities and administration.

The state also witnessed a spurt in fresh Covid cases with detection of 1,179 new cases yesterday.
