Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde yesterday praised the winners of the National e-Governance Awards as revolutionaries who are simplifying lives for citizens across India. Mr. Shinde inaugurated the two-day 27th National Conference on e-Governance in Mumbai. The theme of this conference is “Viksit Bharat: Secure and Sustainable e-Service Delivery.”
Addressing the gathering, he asserted that e-governance is a fundamental element of development and enables a government to be more responsive, inclusive, and citizen-centric. Mr. Shinde stated that e-governance extends beyond technology; it represents a shift in
mentality, fostering transparency in governance and building trust between citizens and the government. He credited e-governance with the prompt transfer of funds from the ‘Mukhyamantri Mazhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ to beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Mr. Shinde also emphasized that public satisfaction is as crucial as the speed of technology.
During the program, CM Eknath Shinde unveiled the new name of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Organization and Methods, which will now be known as the Department of Administrative Innovation, Excellence, and Good Governance.
