Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan inaugurated the 62nd National Maritime Day and the Merchant Navy Week at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai yesterday. Addressing the officers, the Governor stressed the importance of the maritime sector to achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat. He called for better coordination between the Directorate General of Shipping, the Shipping Corporation of India, the Container Corporation, the Railways and traders. He further expressed the need for the modernisation of ports in the country.
