Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has announced further relaxation in COVID-19 restrictions in the state. The move has come in the wake of declining cases of COVID-19.

The state government has now allowed beaches, swimming pools, amusement parks and spas to remain open with 50 percent capacity, while there’s no limit on the number of attendees at funerals.

As per the order, the state government has said that all national parks and safaris will open as per regular timings with online tickets and the visitors must be fully vaccinated. It stated that concerned authorities of these activities should impose reasonable restrictions on the number of people to be allowed in



such activities at any time in view of Covid 19 pandemic.

It stated that marriages may have guests upto 25 percent of the capacity for the open ground and banquet halls, or 200, whichever is lower. While it has also permitted local, cultural and folk entertainment programmes with 50 percent capacity of the venue.

The order allowed restaurants and theatres to remain operational.

Meanwhile, the state reported 15,140 fresh coronavirus positive cases yesterday. According to the state health department, there were 39 fatalities due to the infection, while 35,453 patients were discharged during the day.
