Maharashtra Govt Forms SIT for Badlapur School Assault Case

In Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister of Devendra Fadnavis yesterday informed that a Special Investigation Team has been constituted under senior IPS officer Arati Singh to investigate the case of sexual assault of a young girl at a school in Badlapur. He said that the Thane Police Commissioner has been instructed to give a proposal to conduct the trial in the fast-track court.

education minister Deepak Kesarkar stated the State Government will issue directions for constituting Vishakha committees at the school level in the state. He also said that orders to operationalize Sakhi Savitri committees have been issued.

Meanwhile, the parents and public are still protesting. Security has been tightened in Thane.
