Maharashtra government has issued fresh Covid guidelines amid a surge in coronavirus infections in the state. As per the new norms, hotels, restaurants, and theatres will operate at 50 per cent capacity. It has strictly declined permission for political, social and religious gatherings. It clarified that violation of this guideline will attract penalties under the Disaster Management Act.
The Maharashtra Government's new set of guidelines has allowed only 50 people to attend weddings and only 20 people to attend the funeral.It also clarified that offices except related to health services and essential services should operate at 50 per cent capacity.
Besides the order asked the management or trust
of religious places to restrict the per hour number of visitors as per the available space. While people should mandatorily wear masks while visiting cinema halls, hotels, restaurants and shopping malls. Government has once again directed these establishments to measure the temperature of every visitor and ensure no one with fever gets an entry.
Also it is made compulsory to keep adequate hand sanitisers at various convenient locations for the public. Concerned establishments have also been asked to ensure the presence of enough manpower to enforce wearing of masks as well as maintaining social distances by all visitors. These guidelines will remain in force till 31 March 2021.
