Maharashtra Government has released guidelines for the upcoming Shab-e-Barat festival that falls on 28th March.

Considering the rise in the number of COVID cases, the government has said that there will be a total ban on gatherings, including the ones for holding special prayers outside Masjids during the night of Shab-e-Barat.

Urging citizens to offer namaz or prayers inside the safety of their homes, the government has said that the local

administration will be responsible to ensure that there is no public gathering.

It says that masjids can arrange for people to offer prayers, only in small batches of 40-50 people and must ensure social distancing and disinfection of the place at all times.

The administration has said that the masjids can organise the special Waz event through virtual medium like Facebook Live, etc.
