In Maharashtra, four talukas namely Jawali, Mahabaleshwar, Karad, Patan and Wai in Satara district have received the highest rainfall. Due to continuous rains, water level in Koyna Dam in the district reached 80.45 TMC last night.

Due to high inflow of water into the dam, 2100 quesec of water will be released from Koyna dam into the river at 11 am this morning. Subsequently, the riverside villages in Patan, Karad and Sangli have been asked to remain



vigilant.
 
It is likely to rain in most parts of the state in the next two days. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in Konkan, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada.

In Mumbai and suburbs, moderate to torrential rains are expected. Moderate rainfall with occasional intense spell is likely to occur in Pune district in the next few days. IMD has issued an 'orange ' for ghat areas of Pune district.
