Mumbai: In order to make it convenient for the citizens to travel in Mumbai local trains and obtain Railway Monthly Pass, an offline verification process for COVID-19 Final Vaccination begins today from 7 a.m. at Suburban Railway Stations.
Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced that fully vaccinated citizens can travel in local trains from 15th of August, but a gap of 14 days from the second dose of COVID vaccine is necessary to avail the facility. Citizens shall be allowed to travel on monthly season’s tickets only and not for daily commute or season’s tickets of other durations. Citizens who have got both the doses are required to carry a hard copy of COVID-19 Vaccination Final Certificate and a Photo ID for
verification.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal informed that a total of 358 Help Desks have been set up at 53 Railway Stations in the BMC jurisdiction.
While Help Desks have been opened at 109 stations in the entire Mumbai Metropolitan Region including surrounding cities to Mumbai Metropolis. These desks will be functional in two consecutive sessions, that is from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The BMC said, citizens can approach the stations nearest to their house for verification. Citizens have also been requested not to crowd unnecessarily. It said strict legal action will be taken if fake / bogus certificates are found.
