Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced that students applying for admission in engineering, medical, and other professional courses can now submit their caste validity certificates within six months of their application.

A statement from the Chief Minister’s Office has informed that the decision will be beneficial

for students seeking admission under the Maratha quota. Earlier this year, Maharashtra approved a ten per cent reservation for Marathas in education and employment. However, due to delays in the verification and issuance of caste certificates, students have been requesting an extension of the submission deadline.
