Mail and express train coaches to be converted into LHB coaches to ensure passenger safety, says Railway Minister

New Delhi: Indian Railways will set up convenience stores at 2,000 Railway Stations across the country, where items of basic needs will be available. Addressing a Press conference in New Delhi, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, from these stores, passengers can purchase items of daily use like bathing soaps, toothpaste and towels.



He added, these stores will remain open on all days in a week for 24 hours.  

On Passenger safety, the Minister announced that all the coaches of mail and express trains will be converted into Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches in the next three years.
