Mumbai: A major fire broke out last night at City Central Mall in Nagpada Area near Mumbai Central Bus Depot in Mumbai. Due to the commercial establishments in this three-storey complex the fire quickly spread to other floors in the building. The fire brigade department declared the fire as level five fire and 50 vehicles including 24 fire engines and 16 jumbo water tankers and 250 fire brigade personnel are engaged in the fire fighting



operations.
 
Considering the risk of spreading fire to other places, 3500 people from adjacent Orchid Tower were evacuated and moved to safe place with the help of the police. The roads near the mall are closed from both the ends for vehicular traffic. Two fireman received minor injuries and one of them was admitted to J J hospital for the treatment of suffocation. The firefighting operation is still underway.
