A major fire broke out at Serum Institute of India (SSI) in Pune this afternoon. The fire was reported on the third floor in a building near the Terminal 1 gate of the institute.
Thick clouds of smoke were seen coming out of one of the buildings in the SII complex. As many as ten fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. Police
and local administration officials have reached the site.
So far, three employees are evacuated from the building. The Serum Institute of India is manufacturing the anti-Coronavirus vaccine called "Covishield". As per reports received so far stock of Vaccine is safe and the production of vaccines is also not affected by this fire.
