Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak arrived Chennai yesterday on the first leg of his six day official tour to India. The visiting Prime Minister is accompanied by his wife and a high ranking delegation including Foreign Minister Anifa Aman. He was given a warm reception at the Raj Bhavan by Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy.
Prime Minister Najib is scheduled to attend a business meeting organised by Malaysian Associated Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and interact with
the Malaysian community as well as students today. He is also expected to perform Friday prayers at the Anjuman mosque before leaving for New Delhi.
In the national capital, he will be accorded an official reception in front of Rashtrapathi Bhavan followed by meeting with President Pranab Mukherjee and a restricted and delegation level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He will also hold interactions with captains of major business houses of India. Later, he is also scheduled to visit Jaipur.
