Malda bomb explosion toll rises to six

In West Bengal, the death toll in the Malda bomb explosion that occurred in the wee hours Sunday night has risen to six. Three members of the bomb disposal squad of the CID Police were seriously injured yesterday while trying to search and diffuse more bombs without specific gears. 
Two of the policemen died while the third one has been admitted to a hospital in a very critical condition. All the 3 police personnel were reportedly being brought to Kolkata for better



treatment.
Earlier, four persons had died and six others were critically injured in the explosion at Jainpur village under Baisnavnagar area in Malda district. The injured were admitted to the Malda Medical College and Hospital. 
Police informed that a large quantity of bomb-making material was recovered from the spot. Locals said that the killed and the injured villagers were all TMC supporters. One of the deceased was reportedly a Panchayat member of the ruling party.
