Mamata Banerjee wants tougher laws to control road accidents

West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee has said that stringent rules will be introduced to check rash driving especially motorcycle racing that leads to most accidents. Expressing concern over fatal road accidents in the state, the Chief Minister said in assembly today that illegal bike racing is



coming up as a major problem in the state which has claimed countless lives. 

She had launched the state-wide “Safe Drive save Life” campaign, a few months ago. Our correspondent reports that the campaign had helped in reducing the number of road accidents.
