Manipur Chief Minister Shri Biren Singh and his cabinet colleagues have reaffirmed the trust of the people of the State by holding a State Cabinet meeting in Ukhrul district headquarters on Wednesday (18th October 2023). CM also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of various development projects there.
This is the second visit of Shri Biren Singh to the hill district of the State after the communal violence. While the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleague arrived at Ukhrul on Wednesday (18th October 2023), various tribal bodies and the public warmly welcomed them. After the meeting, the Chief Minister also visited villages in Ukhrul district and interacted with the villagers.
Addressing a public gathering in Ukhrul district headquarter, CM said
that the present BJP led State Government has been taking special development campaigns for the hill districts under the 'Go to Hills' Mission of the government. He said that the government has decided to make Ukhrul the Summer Capital of the State and necessary infrastructural development will be taken up very soon.
Some of the developmental projects inaugurated by the Chief minister yesterday include inauguration of a 100 bedded hospital, repair of police headquarters, inauguration of health sub centres, repairing of National Highway 202, Inauguration of Children Homes, Cultural Centres etc. Shri Biren also distributed twenty six appointment letters to the newly appointed staff of District Autonomous Council, Ukhrul.
