Manipur Govt withdraws mobile internet ban in 9 districts

Manipur Government withdrew temporary suspension of internet and mobile data services in the jurisdiction of nine districts of the State from yesterday afternoon. The State Government suspended mobile and internet data services in the jurisdiction of six valley districts and three hill districts since 16th of last month after widespread protests erupted in valley districts condemning the kidnapping and killing of six innocent civilians in Jiribam district.

An order issued by



the State Home Department yesterday said that the decision to lift all forms of temporary suspension of internet and mobile data services has been taken after reviewing the prevailing law and order situation in the State. However, the order informed all internet users to refrain from any activities which may cause threat to the general law and order situation in the State which may warrant temporary suspension of internet services in future.
