In Manipur, the security forces arrested eighteen cadres belonging to different banned militant groups based in the State during the mass combing operation conducted yesterday. According to the Police report, these cadres of different militant groups were arrested during the combing operation conducted at different places in valley districts of Manipur.
Among them, three belong to KCP (MFL), nine belong to KCP (Peoples War Group) and the remaining six cadres belong to PREPAK groups. The
security forces also recovered a number of armed and ammunition from the arrested cadres and said that they were involved in money extortion from the general public and businessmen.
In another incident, the security forces busted two camps of banned militant groups set up in the Imphal East district and recovered a number of arms and ammunition. The security forces also continued the mass combing operation in hill districts of Manipur.
